- Oversees the intake and processing of life insurance claims
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining Fidelity Life’s claims adjudication standards
- Determines final disposition of claims within assigned authority
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legislation, regulations and industry standards that pertain to insurance claims
- Recommends and implements best practices to ensure thorough and complete claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations following company policies and insurance industry regulations
- Manages certain negotiations of settlements and administration of claims in litigation
- Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary
- Manages day-to-day performance of subordinate staff and provides expert guidance and consultation to ensure proper disposition of claims based on applicable policy provisions
- Works closely with the Reinsurance Department and Reinsurers to meet applicable obligations set forth in reinsurance treaties and to assist with reinsurance recoverables as needed
- Is the liaison between Fidelity Life and the TPA’s Claims Department, and is responsible for Fidelity Life’s oversight of the TPA’s Claims Department including but not limited to claims review standards, approval limits, adherence to Fidelity Life’s claim review practices, quality assurance, etc.
- Responsible for communication and training claims staff in support of new products and/or services
- Oversees process improvements in the life claims functions

Qualifications:
- Requires 10+ years of experience in adjudicating claims and managing claims staff
- Strong analytical and fair/equitable judgmental skills
- Collaborative, curious and confident
- Trusted to handle confidential matters and sensitive information with discretion
- Strategic thinker and proactive decision maker
- Proficient in MS Windows and Office programs
- Strong knowledge of life insurance
