Claims ManagerABOUT THIS ROLE:
Align Claims Services, a subsidiary of DUAL NA, is currently searching for a Claims Manager to manage a team of 5-6 claims adjusters. This position can be fully remote for the right individual. This individual will manage a team that handles moderate to high exposure general liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage, as well as construction defect, involving general and subcontractor risks.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews new losses within 14 days of assignment to the adjuster to ensure coverage has been confirmed and appropriate action is being taken to investigate liability and assess damages
Maintains a diary on all open files assigned to the adjusters on the team to ensure files are being proactively handled
Review sufficiency of reserves on a case-by-case basis during regular diary reviews
Work with the adjuster on cases that involve complex or unique coverage issues that may require the issues of a reservation of rights or coverage denial letter
Utilize critical thinking and solid judgment to solve problems, make decisions and resolve issues inherent in handling losses, as well as plan and organize activities throughout the claims management process
Provide coaching and feedback to members of the team on an ongoing basis throughout the performance period
Promptly deal with any performance issues that may arise with the team
Ensure the team is handling claims consistent with NBIS client and corporate policies, procedures and "Best Practices", and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements
Work/communicate closely with underwriting to keep them apprised of any issues that may impact the business, including but not limited to, suggesting revisions to policy forms, risk concerns with a specific account etc.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
College graduate and/or applicable insurance industry training and/or experience.
Ten (10) or more years of experience handling moderate to high exposure commercial auto and general liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage, with at least two (2) years in a supervisor role.
