Job summary

State of Washington invites applications for the Insurance Technician 3 (IT3 Non-Perm) role in the Producer Licensing Unit. Based in Tumwater, you will review insurance license applications, research licensing issues, and provide guidance to applicants, licensees, and stakeholders to ensure compliant licensing actions.

You will troubleshoot electronic licensing transactions, document decisions in agency systems, and support customer‑facing licensing processes with accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Two years as Insurance Tech 1 with one year of clerical/customer service experience, OR one year as Insurance Tech 2 with one year of clerical/customer service experience, OR four years of clerical/office support/customer service experience providing guidance on processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate insurance license applications for completeness and compliance with laws and licensing requirements.
• Research licensing issues and determine appropriate actions (issue, decline, reinstate, refer for review).
• Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding licensing requirements, processes, exams, continuing education, and licensure status.
