Job summary

JTG inc. is seeking Freelance Legal Translators, Transcribers, and Interpreters to provide translation services for legal documents and audio files. Candidates must be proficient in English and one or more foreign languages including Greek, Indonesian, or Japanese. Responsibilities include providing accurate translations, transcribing audio, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Preferred qualifications include a law degree or paralegal certificate. This position is adaptable with remote options available. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in translating and interpreting legal documents.
• Experience as a professional translator, editor, or legal professional.
• Willing to undergo a U.S. government background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate translation of documents involving law enforcement.
• Transcribe audio files into the target language.
• Review quality of other translators’ work as needed.

Skills

Proficient in translating between English and a foreign language

Proficient in interpreting between English and a foreign language

Audio transcription experience

Familiarity with legal terminology

Microsoft Office proficiency

Education

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
