Job summary

Arnold & Porter, a leading international law firm, seeks a Legal Research Training Analyst to join our dynamic Research Services team. The role blends sophisticated legal research with the creation of instructional content for attorneys and staff, advancing our on-demand learning initiatives.

The candidate will dedicate ~60% to research requests and ~40% to developing and expanding the training curriculum, using current platforms and AI tools. A remote or hybrid West Coast placement is available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a law firm, academic law library, court library, or comparable legal information environment.
• Demonstrated experience conducting legal research on Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, HeinOnline, and related resources.
• Experience designing and coordinating training programs, workshops, or instructional content.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong client service orientation and ability to build relationships with attorneys, staff, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal, business, and competitive intelligence research support to attorneys and staff across the firm (approx. 60%).
• Develop live and virtual legal research training programs for attorneys and professional staff (approx. 40%).
• Create engaging online on-demand training materials, videos, and other learning resources on the intranet.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to learner engagement and outcomes.
• Coordinate vendor training events and stay current on AI tools and learning technologies.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation programs for new attorneys and staff.
