Scion Staffing, Inc. has been engaged to fill a Legal Bookkeeper role for a California-based law firm. This full-time, fully remote position supports daily bookkeeping, trust accounts, and client billing within a professional services environment.

The ideal candidate will manage reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and use QuickBooks along with Centerbase to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with legal accounting practices while thriving in an independent, remote setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in general accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Proficient in bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and financial recordkeeping.
• Experience with client trust accounting, including retainer applications, refunds, and trust reconciliations, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping and general accounting activities with accurate records and documentation.
• Perform bank reconciliations and oversee client trust accounting, including retainer applications and refunds, and trust balance monitoring.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, payment tracking, and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile client credit card payments via LawPay and track business card expenses.
• Support client billing and accounting operations by responding to inquiries and opening new client matters in Centerbase.
• Maintain organized financial records and collaborate with the team to ensure timely, accurate processes.
