Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Structural Engineer to perform design reviews and lead a team on substation projects, focusing on steel, concrete, and foundation components. The position requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and 8+ years of experience, with CA PE licensure preferred.
Remote work is possible with occasional travel to client sites; candidates should be comfortable working with a multidisciplinary team and managing multiple clients while meeting budget and schedule
Qualifications
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 5+ years.
- PE License in California is required.
- SE License in any state is preferred.
- Strong client management and business communication experience is required.
- Experience with design and review of structures to industry codes under seismic loading is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation bid/construction packages.
- Lead projects as a senior engineer and mentor junior staff.
- Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for meetings.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
