Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive Kafka-based integrations within the Enterprise Architecture team. This technical lead will design and implement scalable enterprise integration solutions, aligning with architectural standards and business goals.

You will guide development, oversee real-time data pipelines, and mentor teammates while ensuring high availability and security across multi-data center and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.
• OR
• High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters in a multi data center and cloud environment.
• Implement authorization, authentication and schema governance.
• Build real-time data pipelines using Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams and KSQL/FLinkSQL.
• Monitor system metrics and address performance issues to ensure high availability.
• Provide mentorship and consultative guidance across teams; align projects with enterprise architecture.
