Placements24 is seeking a Lead SEO Specialist to drive organic growth for a fully remote, globally focused online media brand. You will own advanced SEO strategies, lead technical audits, and mentor a team of SEO professionals across markets.

The role requires 7–8+ years of experience, expert technical knowledge, and strong leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders and guide content, development, and marketing teams.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, CS, Statistics, or related field; Master's preferred.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the online media industry, is actively seeking a highly experienced Lead SEO Specialist to join their fully remote team. This senior position is critical for driving organic growth and ensuring our client remains at the forefront of search engine results. You will be responsible for developing and executing sophisticated SEO strategies, leading technical SEO initiatives, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate possesses a deep analytical mindset, a proven track record of achieving significant SEO results, and a comprehensive understanding of all facets of SEO, including technical, content, and link building. As a fully remote role, you will have the autonomy to work from anywhere in South Africa, contributing your expertise to a globally recognized brand. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced, data-driven SEO strategies to significantly increase organic search traffic and rankings.
• Lead comprehensive technical SEO audits, identifying and prioritizing issues related to site architecture, crawlability, indexability, page speed, and mobile-friendliness.
• Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitive analysis, and market trend analysis to inform content and SEO strategies.
• Oversee and execute effective on-page and off-page optimization tactics, including content optimization, internal linking, and strategic backlink acquisition.
• Utilize advanced SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog) to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and track progress.
• Analyze search performance data, user behavior, and conversion metrics to provide strategic recommendations and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Requirements
