CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead Quest Programmer to lead the story-technologies engineering team for Cyberpunk 2, reporting into our North American team in Boston. You’ll bridge design visions and technical execution, shaping quest systems and authoring tools for a narrative-driven experience.

You’ll mentor engineers, own performance reviews and code quality, and collaborate across time zones with designers, directors, and other architects to deliver robust quest features and runtimes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional programming in AAA games.
• 1+ years in technical leadership or leading a team.
• Strong proficiency in C++.
• Experience developing custom quest systems, narrative tools, or node-based editor workflows.
• Proven track record working in a highly collaborative shared technology environment across multiple teams.
• Ability to translate design visions into clear technical requirements and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct reports and support their professional growth.
• Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring and promotion plans.
• Guide engineering team in code quality and collaborative workflows.
• Translate creative/narrative requirements into technical needs with quest designers.
• Drive quest feature development and integration across projects.
• Ensure quest tools run efficiently with optimized runtimes.
• Collaborate with cinematic, narrative, and core gameplay teams to integrate quest systems.
