CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead Quest Programmer to join the Cyberpunk 2 team in Canada. Lead the story tech engine, bridge design vision and engineering, and mentor an engineering squad focused on quest systems.

You will collaborate with designers, directors, and central architects to deliver robust tools, maintain performance, and enable creators to craft compelling narrative experiences across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional programming in AAA games.
• 1+ year in technical leadership or engineering management.
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
• Experience developing custom quest systems, narrative tools, or node-based editors.
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and projects.
• Ability to translate creative needs into technical requirements.
• Excellent communication across time zones and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct reports and support their growth.
• Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring and promotions.
• Mentor the engineering team on code quality and collaboration.
• Interpret creative/narrative requirements into technical needs with designers leads.
• Drive quest features development and integration across projects.
• Ensure runtime performance and smooth iteration for content creators.
