Ladders in the healthcare space seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to own platform scale, reliability, and production readiness. You will partner with engineering peers to boost uptime, performance, and resilience while contributing hands-on to the codebase in a remote US-based setting.

The role requires guiding a small team, defining fault-tolerance patterns across distributed services, building tests, and shaping observability—logging, metrics, and alerting—within Kubernetes-based cloud-native

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of full stack software engineering experience.
• 1-2 years leading platform reliability or production operations.
• Strong experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Expertise in automated testing frameworks and observability practices.
• Ability to lead a small engineering team while contributing technically.
• Experience with cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery for the platform scale and reliability pod, including planning and execution.
• Ensure uptime, performance, and resilience of the platform and proactively identify potential issues.
• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure quality standards are met.
• Contribute to production code while improving platform infrastructure.
• Oversee logging, metrics collection, and monitoring strategies for system behavior.
• Define error handling and fault tolerance patterns across distributed services.
• Evaluate and promote scalability solutions to enhance platform performance.
