Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer specialized in petrochemicals for a fully remote role. You will spearhead design and implementation of advanced petrochemical processes, and drive scalable, sustainable manufacturing solutions from a home office.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of progressive petrochemical process engineering experience.
• Experience designing and scaling steam cracking, reforming, polymerization, or refining.
• Strong process safety expertise (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL).
• Proficiency with advanced process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ProMax).
• Ability to lead and manage complex projects remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and optimization of large-scale petrochemical processes.
• Oversee process simulation, modeling, and economic evaluation for new projects.
• Develop and enforce rigorous process safety management (PSM) systems.
• Manage virtual project teams and ensure timely milestone delivery.
• Interface with technology providers, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders globally.
• Analyze operational data to identify efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Prepare technical documentation including design basis, P&IDs, and manuals.
• Mentor junior engineers in a remote setting and foster technical excellence.
• Ensure designs comply with international safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
