Job summary

May Mobility, Inc. is seeking a Lead ML Engineer for Localization to architect production-grade localization features for autonomous vehicles. The role focuses on map-based and vision/LiDAR/radar localization, with emphasis on real-time performance and robustness across various environments.

You will lead research, data strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable localization solutions and contribute to the broader autonomy system.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in CS/EE/Robotics or related field.
• 7+ years of ML/DL experience in CV or localization.
• Strong knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion, and state estimation.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; large-scale data handling and active learning.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the localization ML stack roadmap for real-time operation.
• Lead research, design, training, validation of neural architectures for localization.
• Own end-to-end data strategy including curation, auto-labeling and synthetic data.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for localization performance and reliability.
• Define failure modes and safe fallback criteria across ODDS.
• Collaborate across teams to translate autonomy goals into software requirements.
