Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to guide the design and delivery of backend services for enterprise payment solutions. This remote role emphasizes scalable Java architecture, modern development practices, and reliable production operation in a regulated industry.

You will drive engineering quality through coding standards, testing discipline, and continuous delivery, partnering with stakeholders to build customer-focused solutions that scale globally.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience with Java/J2EE
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid OO design and software development patterns
• Experience with relational databases, SQL development
• Familiarity with automated testing and TDD with JUnit/Selenium
• Hands-on CI/CD using GitHub and Jenkins
• Containerized deployments with Kubernetes or Docker

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for enterprise payment solutions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to support team improvement and efficiency
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver customer-focused technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems
