Job summary

Nerdery, LLC. seeks a Principal Software Engineer (Integrations) to own architecture of a multi-tenant ERP connector framework for Fleetio, coordinating SAP S4HANA Cloud and Dynamics 365 BC adapters.

You’ll lead senior engineers and a QA engineer, ensuring data integrity, audit trails, and scalable backend systems. You’ll set engineering standards, drive decisions on cloud layout and SDKs, and hand the framework to Fleetio’s team at project end.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a computer related field or equivalent
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 2-3+ years of application software architecture experience
• Ability to write complex software and explain rationale
• Strong technical communication for technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of iterative development processes
• Experience in production system-to-system integrations
• Deep data-integrity design (idempotency, outbox/ledger patterns)
• Multi-tenant SaaS design with tenant isolation and per-tenant secrets
• AWS and IaC design responsibility not just usage
• Fluent in Python and/or TypeScript/Node; comfortable with Ruby/Rails
• Experience leading client-facing technical engagements with hard deadlines
• Experience designing scalable, reliable backend systems and integrations
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the framework design, adapter interfaces, idempotency ledger, and posting matrix
• Lead early decision spikes and document decisions (cloud layout, SDK choices, gaps)
• Gate data models with Fleetio; define interim models if needed
• Translate accounting requirements into design and review posting defaults
• Build core framework code with team for ledger and posting integrity
• Coordinate work across SAP and Dynamics lanes with scope discipline
• Set engineering standards and review code and tests with QA
• Lead the technical demo for Fleetio kickoff and knowledge transfer
• Define how AI tools are used with the team's workflow
• Provide technical sales input and estimates as needed
• Assist with other duties as assigned
