Job summary

Bowman invites applicants for a Lead Environmental Scientist. The role is remote, requiring leadership over complex environmental projects, client engagement, proposal development, and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise field assessments, prepare scopes of work, and coordinate with agencies to ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery. Ideal candidates have a strong background in environmental science, 8+ years of experience, and solid skills in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or related field.
• Registered professional in the field of expertise.
• Eight or more years of relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and conduct complex field biology assessments including wetland delineations and surveys.
• Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals and establish budgets and schedules.
• Direct and prepare scopes of work, study designs, reports, and environmental permit packages.
• Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve technical and billing questions.
• Support business development and proposal preparation.
• Work directly with clients to achieve site planning and permitting needs.
• Prepare environmental reports and permit applications at federal, state, and local levels.
• Research and interpret federal, state and local regulations and requirements.
• Collect, manage and analyze environmental data and information.
• Interface with regulatory agencies and participate in project meetings.
