Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. seeks an Environmental Scientist III to contribute to land development projects remotely. You will conduct wetland delineations, inventories of threatened species, permit planning, and regulatory coordination at county, state, and federal levels.

Your role includes field work across weather and terrain, developing designs and reports, and supervising staff while pursuing client relationships and business development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or related field required at time of employment.
• Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Must have wetland/water delineation experience.
• Registered Professional in Wetland Science (PWS) preferred, and/or other certifications (WPIT, etc).
• Five or more (5+) years of relevant industry-related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS.
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex environmental projects in land development including planning and budgets.
• Conduct field assessments and fieldwork in various weather and terrains.
• Prepare designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports.
• Manage proposals, budgets and project deliverables.
• Maintain client relationships and pursue business development opportunities.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and staff to complete projects.
• Prepare maps/exhibits using GIS or AutoCAD.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team success.
