Job summary

BJAK is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and raise the engineering bar across the team. This hands-on leadership role involves designing systems, coding, reviews, and guiding engineers from idea to production.

You should be comfortable moving between architecture and implementation, making strong technical decisions while staying close to the code to execute when needed. This role is remote globally.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Willingness to stay hands-on and review code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of major products and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and databases.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, reviews and production debugging.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scale and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and review others' designs and code.
• Improve tooling and release reliability across the team.
