Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Embedded Computing Software, remote allowed, to lead design, development, and testing of advanced embedded software for defense applications. You will drive architecture decisions and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires 8–12+ years of experience, strong C/C++, Linux, and real-time embedded systems knowledge, plus leadership in software projects.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of progressive software development experience, including ownership of complex applications or subsystems.
• 5+ years’ experience developing software systems and 4+ years software project lead experience.
• Hands-on with software development for embedded processing products and DO-178C/CMMI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product plans and requirements to generate software specifications for new products and enhancements.
• Collaborate with systems engineering and hardware teams to develop sustainable software solutions.
• Plan, design, develop, and test embedded software for embedded systems and bootloaders (BIOS, SlimBootLoader, U-Boot).
• Diagnose and resolve advanced software defects with cross-functional teams.
• Develop design and test documentation and user manuals.
