Job summary

Partner Company in the United States seeks a Lead, Data Governance to build and operate a modern governance program across a global data environment. You will establish standards for classification, ownership, access, quality, and protection across lakehouse, analytics, and internal data products.

Reporting to the CISO, this individual contributor role balances strong controls with fast-paced delivery, collaborating with Data, Security, Privacy, and Legal teams to implement practical governance

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in data governance, data security, GRC, privacy engineering, or related.
• 2+ years hands-on with modern data platforms (lakehouses/warehouses) and BI/semantic layers.
• Strong understanding of DAMA-DMBOK, NIST or similar frameworks.
• Experience building data classification, access controls, or entitlement Review programs.
• Familiarity with privacy and regulatory requirements in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data governance policies, classification standards, ownership models, and exception processes.
• Own data access governance across lakehouse and analytics environments with least-privilege controls.
• Partner with data engineering to implement access policies, schema restrictions, and service accounts.
• Establish data quality standards and work with data teams to measure and improve quality.
• Maintain data inventories, metadata, ownership, and lineage for governance and audits.
• Review data-related vendors and new use cases including AI/analytics tools.
• Collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Legal on cross-border data requests and PII handling.
