Job summary

Atticus is hiring its first in-house Data Engineer to own and evolve the core data infrastructure. You will bridge Engineering and Business Operations, building reliable data products and ensuring data is clean, accessible, and trustworthy for stakeholders across the company.

You will work with data scientists, analysts, and product leaders to modernize pipelines, improve performance, and enable faster insights. This early, high-impact role offers remote flexibility and equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Hands-on with BigQuery, dbt, and orchestration tools (Dagster or Airflow).
• Strong SQL; proficient in Golang or Python.
• Experience modernizing data systems iteratively.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate data warehouse, pipelines, and transformation layer.
• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines from internal and external sources.
• Deliver clean, well-documented datasets with optimized queries.
• Assess existing data systems and migrate thoughtfully.
• Implement data quality monitoring, alerting, and documentation.
