Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Lead Client Funds Accounting professional for a fully remote role in the United States. You will manage CFA analysts, oversee reconciliations, and mentor staff while collaborating with product, treasury, and corporate teams to strengthen controls and scalability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll service or banking operations, 3+ years in client fund reconciliations, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in a payroll service or banking operations.
• 3+ years in service bureau account reconciliations.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff.
• MasterTax Software experience.
• Thorough understanding of payroll service bureaus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Manage, review and approve day-to-day activities of staff, including daily/weekly reconciliation for payroll/tax/benefit accounts
• Manage, mentor and provide performance evaluation of select staff members
• Provide training to team for technical and professional development
• Establish weekly assignments which fosters overall team and company success and stimulates individual development
• Makes decisions based on experience and ability to anticipate problem situations and be proactive in reducing liability.
• Prepares month end reconciliations, researches financial differences, and provides support to Corporate Accounting
• Collaborate with Product Team and other internal stakeholders in the testing and rollout of new business initiatives
• Monitors cash across total client base to mitigate risk, ensures activity is properly recorded, and recommends mechanisms to address cash shortfalls/excesses with action plans for resolution Develops policies and procedures that promote strong internal controls, increase efficiency, and enable rapid scaling
• Work closely with the Banking/Tax Treasury and Finance teams to recommend fixes to MasterTax or Web Pay activities as needed
• Work closely with the Banking/Tax Treasury team to discuss and find resolution to exceptions and enhance cross-function collaboration and reporting
• Recommend and instruct staff to make cash collections as indicated by reports
• Ensure department operating procedures and internal controls are followed
• Work toward a goal of continued process improvement
• Review and approve process documentation
• Support Client Services Inquiries
• Support Audit teams to ensure timely delivery of documentation requests related to SOX/SOC and other compliance requirements
• Review and approve Client Credits in accordance with Company policies
