Pearson is seeking a strategic and hands-on Lead Specialist- AI Scientist to design, build, deploy, and scale production AI/ML capabilities that power learner intelligence, recommendations, and knowledge graphs across Pearson products. The role bridges AI research, data science, software engineering, and product delivery, leading GenAI, LLM, RAG, and agentic AI initiatives from concept to production.

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or similar.
• Proficiency in Python, APIs, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Experience building and deploying AI apps using foundation models and modern frameworks.
• Strong collaboration with product, engineering, design, and business stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, development, deployment, and operation of production AI capabilities.
• Design and deliver Generative AI, LLM, RAG, and agentic AI solutions with measurable impact.
• Build reusable AI platform services, APIs, and workflows for Pearson products.
• Own end-to-end AI delivery lifecycle from experimentation to production improvement.
• Establish scalable MLOps and AIOps practices for training, deployment, observability, governance, and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Learning Science, and Data Science teams to identify opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and architectures balancing quality, safety, latency, and cost.
• Establish best practices for responsible AI, model evaluation, and governance.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists to elevate AI capabilities across the org.
• Communicate strategy, architecture decisions, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
