Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production AI solutions across government programs and enterprise systems. This remote role emphasizes hands‑on development, real‑world data, and scalable AI architectures.

You will mentor staff, shape best practices, and drive intelligent systems from exploration through production alongside a team of engineers. The position requires 10+ years of experience in advanced algorithms and data science, strong Python and systems

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 10+ years of professional experience.
7+ years of advanced algorithm building and data science experience, including production algorithms on real data.
7+ years of Data Science or advanced algorithm building experience.
5+ years designing or building cloud solutions.
3+ years of AI/ML related tech experience.
Experience deploying algorithms beyond notebooks on production systems.
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to varied audiences.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

Lead the applied and responsible use of AI, ML, math, and data science across the enterprise.
Advance solutions across the enterprise by selecting tools, technologies, and processes.
Translate technical needs and impacts to all levels in a collaborative manner.
Maintain knowledge of AI landscape and assess production applicability.
Create and promote playbooks, best practices, and intellectual capital.
