Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design and governance of an 8-agent, multi-cloud FinOps AI platform (GCP/AWS). You will lead architecture, enforce Zero Trust security, and guide a team of AI engineers toward scalable, enterprise-grade services.

You will collaborate with architects and product managers, oversee integration of 8 agents, and ensure compliance with SOX-adjacent controls while managing cost and performance across the stack.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity building multi-agent AI systems, FinOps tools, or LLM-powered platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Python 3.11+, FastMCP, FastAPI, and Pydantic; Java experience as integration support

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of 8 specialized agents using Python, FastMCP, and GCP Workload Identity.
• Enforce centralized LLM routing and governance with Vertex AI, LiteLLM Gateway, and cost control mechanisms.
• Architect SOX-adjacent execution boundaries and strict segregation-of-duties workflows.
• Oversee Architecture of the platform’s Action Gateway for API invocations, event-driven workflows, and ticketing.
• Set coding, testing, and formatting standards and mentor engineers.
