Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with 7+ years of software experience to join a high-caliber product team building an AI-powered financial assistant platform. You will work with global institutional clients to test, refine, and deploy chat interfaces, reporting systems, and bespoke tools into core investment workflows.

You will join a small, autonomous team of hands-on engineers in a startup-like environment with no legacy code.

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience with proven lead autonomy.
Strong proficiency in Python and/or React (TypeScript).
Experience with FastAPI, AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform.
Frontend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Next.js, or Node.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI evaluation pipelines.
Ability to design robust, scalable systems with a focus on security and data privacy.

Responsibilities

Architect and build AI-powered financial assistant workflows and chat/reporting interfaces.
Translate high-level problems into concrete designs and production implementations.
Integrate AI applications to optimize quality, latency, reliability, and cost.
Ensure software quality, security, and data privacy standards.
Review AI-generated code and conduct automated evaluations and testing.
Address AI security, access control and guardrails in production.
Learn and adopt new technologies as the AI ecosystem evolves.
