Job summary

Farmers in Southern California is seeking a law clerk for the Staff Counsel team. This virtual, part‑time role (~20 hours/week) is ideal for a current 2nd/3rd year law student with experience drafting motions and an interest in civil litigation or insurance defense.

You will conduct legal research, assemble case materials, draft memoranda and pleadings, and support attorneys in trial preparation from a remote location.

Qualifications

• Second or third year law student with an interest in civil litigation, personal injury or insurance defense.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Preferred candidate will be in their third year of law school with some experience drafting motions and available ~20 hours/week during the semester.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research, assemble case materials, write memos, and draft pleadings and motions under attorney supervision.
• Support attorneys by organizing information for legal documents.
• Work part time approximately 20 hours per week and assist in trial/mediation/arbitration preparation.
• Attend court sessions, depositions, mediations and trials to hear oral arguments and document necessary case information.
