Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Research Specialist II to advance land rights research, review title and legal descriptions, and prepare essential real estate documents for major projects. This role supports internal teams and external customers, emphasizing accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

The RS II will leverage knowledge of real estate law, engineering drawings, and GIS mapping while collaborating with Real Estate Reps and vendors to ensure data integrity and project

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Real Estate, Business, Paralegal, Political Science, Surveying and Topography or Other Related Degree is required.
• Minimum 2 years related work experience.
• Notary Public can be acquired within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support Research Specialist I or vendor personnel.
• Perform research using company and public records to determine ownership and title status.
• Review engineering drawings, site plans, and legal descriptions.
• Prepare real estate documents for new construction and major projects with a rights focus.
• Interface with internal partners and maintain confidentiality.
• Map easements in GIS and submit land rights for indexing.
