Summit Spine and Joint Centers (SSJC) is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to audit lab claims, submit and scrub HCFA 1500 bills, and maintain precise documentation. You will work with billing, management, and compliance to meet month-end deadlines and respond to payer inquiries, leveraging CPT/ICD-10 knowledge and familiarity with eClinicalWorks.

Applicants should have at least 3 years in medical billing, with Medicare/Medicaid and payer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with medical billing or revenue cycle in a medical setting.
• Strong CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge and modifiers.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid, commercial plans, and payer denials.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and word processing tools.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred; pain management exposure is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Audit lab claim information for completeness and accuracy.
• Submit claims and scrub urinary drug screens.
• Ensure HCFA 1500 billing accuracy and timely processing.
• Document files with date stamps, logs, and signatures.
• Create provider logs for pending encounters and errors.
• Collaborate with billing, management, and compliance to meet month-end deadlines.
• Handle payer inquiries and address resubmissions; resolve rejections.
• Verify eligibility; understand plan benefits and LCD guidelines.
