Job summary

Omni Federal is seeking a Kubernetes SME to support a DoD customer on an emerging DevSecOps program. This role emphasizes modern architectures, security, and open-source software such as Kubernetes and containers, with a strong focus on reliable cloud design.

You will design, build, and operate scalable, cost-efficient cloud environments, manage multiple Kubernetes providers, implement RBAC and compliance, and collaborate with security and data teams to ensure robust failover and automated CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevSecOps tooling experience.
• Expert Kubernetes, Istio, and Helm; GitOps in hybrid environments.
• 3+ years in Agile teams and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with Custom Operators, CRDs, and Admission Controllers.
• Experience packaging and securing applications as containers in Kubernetes.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Documentation of implementations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run elastic, cost-effective, secure cloud architectures in the cloud using modern approaches like service-mesh and loosely coupled design.
• Manages different Kubernetes providers (Amazon EKS and Fargate, Azure KS and Google KE) or run your own.
• Design and implement Network connectivity, Provisioning Strategy Assess and Design RBAC needs to Ensure Cloud foundation is strong and with needed compliance requirements.
• Maintains, configures, and monitors containers using Infrastructure as Code principles in Development, Test, and Live environments.
• Design containerized solutions for relational/non-relational databases, data auditing, caching, and performance.
• Work with other Architects on Security, Data protection, and Failover Failback strategies.
• Implement Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment using different CI/CD tools by container registries.
