Job summary

The Hartz Mountain Corporation is seeking a Sales Key Account Manager for Pet Specialty, working remotely from home. You will lead a high-impact portfolio including PetSmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, and Tractor Supply, building strategic partnerships to drive sales and category growth.

The role emphasizes data-driven selling, internal collaboration, and field engagement. Travel up to 25% is required; base salary ranges from $115,000 to $120,000 with a 20% incentive bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related discipline and 2+ years of direct sales experience with National Pet Specialty retailers; or 5+ years in direct sales, category management, or analytics for PetSmart/Petco.
• Data analysis and presentation skills with POS and syndicated data analysis; ability to present insights from scratch.
• Proficiency with vendor portals (PetSmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, Tractor Supply) preferred
• Strong negotiation skills with track record of finalizing business and expanding accounts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps; willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets for the territory and categories within the trade spend budget.
• Develop, monitor, and revise annual business plans for accounts.
• Analyze POS and sales data; communicate trends and risks to internal teams and accounts.
• Identify opportunities for category reviews; build stories to secure new business and expand distribution.
• Maintain retail margins and promotions per brand strategy; ensure proper shelf position.
• Forecast events and conduct regular retail audits with insights on inventory gaps.
