The Role

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Customer Development Team in a role that combines strategic support with the opportunity for professional growth. This position offers a deep dive into the business planning process, where you will work closely with Customer Business Managers (CBMs) to help drive our success. You’ll leverage your existing analytical skills to manage essential functions like forecasting, TOS tracking, and the development of line reviews, while also gaining hands‑on experience with brand strategies and pricing for key accounts.

This role is a great fit for someone well‑versed in data analytics and account service who is interested in the opportunity to evolve those skills toward a direct selling capacity. As these insights drive our daily business decisions, you will play a key role in our success, with the flexibility to explore more customer‑facing tasks as you progress. It is a unique chance to leverage your technical skills to drive real‑world results while discovering your own professional path within our growing organization.

In this position, you will work remotely from your home base, located in one of the following states: AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, NC, NJ, OH, PA, TN, TX, VA, and WA.

Sales Support and Planning
  • Conduct regular calls with the VP & CBM’s: Assist with data analysis training and prepare materials for weekly and monthly customer reviews.
  • Translate complex data sets: From Circana and internal customer POS portals into actionable insights to monitor promotional effectiveness and inventory health across the account portfolio.
  • Help secure distribution, pricing, promotion, shelf positioning, and margin objectives: By item/category within direct territory accounts, ensuring alignment with published brand strategies.
  • Support forecasting customer events: As required.
  • Collaborate with CBMs: To collect and verify data, ensuring all key tracking requirements — including CAR, Inventory, Line Reviews, Business Plans and TOS — are accurate and up to date.
Account Management & Administration
  • Effectively manage the administrative responsibilities: Including price change forms, deductions, and selling and planning schedules.
  • Manage select ad hoc tertiary accounts.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field with 2+ years of e‑commerce and category management sales support in a Consumer‑Packaged Goods (CPG) environment (or 4+ years related experience in lieu of degree); pet care industry a plus.
  • Sales and Presentation Skills: Experience with category management & analysis, fact‑based selling techniques (point of sale and syndicated data analysis), with the capacity to create, refine, and present this information compellingly from the ground up.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Familiarity with syndicated data platforms (Nielsen, Power BI, Circana preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Business Travel: Willingness and ability to travel (4‑6 times a year).

If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy supporting and enhancing business operations, this role is perfect for you.
