Job summary

Kreate is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to help build and maintain the data platform that supports dashboards, planning, and daily reporting across ERP, HR, and retail feeds. The role processes data through a Microsoft Fabric lake house with Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

You will work with a Senior Data Engineer to gain hands-on experience building data pipelines, improving data quality, and supporting production-ready infrastructure, while owning daily monitoring and troubleshooting and

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software development, or a related field.
• Solid SQL skills, including joins and window functions, with understanding of fan-out risks.
• Working knowledge of Python, including pandas or PySpark.
• Everyday experience using Git and version control.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate pipelines and data changes.
• Commitment to data accuracy and quality, flagging discrepancies when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines and notebooks in Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory pipelines, Python/Spark notebooks, and Delta tables.
• Monitor daily pipeline operations, triage failures, and report partial failures correctly.
• Develop and maintain data quality checks for freshness, row counts, duplicates, and source reconciliation.
• Migrate ad-hoc scripts to managed, version-controlled, and monitored infrastructure.
• Model new source tables into conformed Silver dimensions and Gold facts with clear data definitions.
• Maintain runbooks and the data catalogue for documented pipelines and systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot pipeline issues and build reliable solutions.
• Work with data, analytics, and business teams to ensure data quality and accessibility for downstream reporting.
