Job summary

Ovation Healthcare is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse environments. You will develop Fabric Notebooks (PySpark/Spark SQL) for data transformation at scale and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient data solutions driving BI and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience building data models and Notebooks within Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse and/or Warehouse).
• Experience writing PySpark/Spark SQL in a notebook environment for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Strong programming skills in SQL and at least one language such as Python, Scala, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
• Design and implement data models within Fabric, including Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures and medallion layering.
• Build, maintain, and optimize Fabric Notebooks (PySpark, Spark SQL, Python) for data transformation at scale.
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver insights.
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows with best practices for security and performance.
• Monitor and optimize pipelines, notebooks, and models for high availability and accuracy.
• Document data models, architectures, and workflows; ensure governance and compliance.
• Stay current with Microsoft Fabric and Azure updates and recommend improvements.
• Support deployment of BI platforms, including Power BI semantic models built on Fabric data.
