Job summary

KaizenGlobalis is seeking a Jr. Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Data team as a remote consultant on client engagements. You will gather requirements, document data processes, and help drive analytics initiatives with business stakeholders, data engineers, BI developers, and product owners.

You’ll craft user stories, refine the backlog, and track progress from intake through testing in Jira while learning client data landscapes and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related role.
• Basic understanding of data concepts such as tables, joins, data models, and metrics.
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to turn unclear input into clear, structured requirements.
• Clear, confident communication with both business and technical audiences.
• Curiosity about how the business runs and how data supports decisions.
• Interest in consulting and comfort working across different clients, industries, and team setups.
• Organized and detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions.
• Familiarity with the following tools: Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Jira; Confluence; Power BI; SQL; Diagramming tools

Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements through client stakeholder interviews, working sessions, and reviews of existing documentation.
• Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and keep them current in Jira.
• Work with senior BAs and product owners to refine and prioritize the backlog.
• Track requirements from intake through development and testing so nothing gets lost.
• Learn and break down client core business processes, including KPI calculations and data handoffs.
• Find pain points, manual workarounds, data quality gaps, and possibilities to automate.
• Help shape solution options and recommend improvements with data and BI teams.
• Map current-state and future-state workflows using process flows and swimlanes.
• Keep documentation clear and current in Confluence or team repositories.
• Write basic SQL queries to explore data and support testing.
• Review or build basic Power BI reports and DAX measures.
• Create low-fidelity wireframes for stakeholder alignment before development.
• Create BRDs, functional specs, user stories, process maps, data mappings, and test cases.
• Support UAT by drafting test scenarios, coordinating testers, and logging defects.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospectives.
• Break epics into stories and size work with the delivery team.
• Support quarterly and roadmap planning by organizing requirements and priorities.
• Represent Kaizen professionally with client teams and build relationships.
• Keep engagement lead updated on progress, risks, and scope questions.
• Follow Kaizen delivery standards and contribute to templates and knowledge sharing.
• Adapt to new client environments, tools, and business domains quickly.
