Job summary

Tucker-Reeves Associates, LLC is seeking a mid-level Java Developer to support a program with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. This position allows remote work within the United States and requires U.S.

citizenship or permanent residency. You will design, develop, and test Java applications, integrate APIs, participate in code reviews and CI/CD, and collaborate with analysts, architects, and product owners to deliver secure, reliable software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 8 years of additional relevant experience.
5 years' professional software development experience in Java or related stack.
Experience with APIs/integrations, automated testing, source control, code reviews, and CI/CD.
Strong debugging, documentation, secure coding, and SDLC practices.
Experience with healthcare/regulated environments is preferred.
Ability to obtain government credentials and maintain security clearances.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test Java application software and integrations throughout the SDLC.
Translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, data validation, logging, and secure error handling.
Participate in code reviews, defect resolution, documentation, CI/CD, and production support.
Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, DevSecOps, and product owners to deliver working software.
Identify risks and recommend improvements to reliability, performance, and maintainability.
