Job summary

Cirrus Group Consulting is seeking a senior, hands-on Full Stack Developer to design, build, and scale secure backend and modern frontend interfaces using Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and relational databases. Remote role open to US-based candidates.

You will own backend services, data modeling, API design, security features, and performance improvements while collaborating with a remote, experienced engineering team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong, recent hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with MongoDB data modeling, indexing, query performance, aggregation, or scaling.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Strong API and backend-development background, including RESTful services and distributed patterns.
• Exposure to application security concepts such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, RBAC, PKI, encryption or certificates.
• Ability to work through incomplete requirements, ask the right questions, and propose thoughtful technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego working style.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance production applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain APIs, backend services, integrations, and data-driven features.
• Work with MongoDB and relational databases to model data and optimize storage.
• Contribute to secure capabilities involving authentication, authorization, credentials, and signatures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify needs and translate ideas into deliverables.
• Improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and observability of applications.
• Work with a long-tenured remote team while contributing fresh ideas and sound technical judgment.
