Excentium, Inc. seeks a Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist / Tech Writer to support VA cybersecurity architecture and engineering.

The role focuses on governing configuration management, maintaining the CMDB, and delivering precise documentation to ensure audit readiness and continuity. The candidate will work remotely with occasional coordination at VA Central Office, and travel as required; 5+ years IT experience with CM, ITSM and ITIL familiarity are preferred, along with

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT experience, including 3+ years in configuration management or technical editing at large orgs or federal agencies.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in related IT field.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 workforce requirement level III equivalent (IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III)
• Familiarity with ITIL and centralized CMDB maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Own configuration management discipline and technical documentation quality across the program.
• Maintain the CMDB and oversee change management processes.
• Produce clear, accurate technical documentation of system configurations and program processes for audit readiness and knowledge continuity.
