Job summary

Barnes & Noble Education is seeking a Support Services Analyst to assist in day-to-day operations of computer systems. You will install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and business applications while providing end-user support.

The role requires at least three years of customer service or technical support experience, strong Microsoft platform knowledge, and the ability to work remotely from a Columbia, MO area or further. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in customer service or technical support, preferably in AS400, POS, PeopleSoft, websites, MS Office, hardware/peripherals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft platforms and basic network configurations.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to support users in person and over the phone.
• Self-starter, able to work independently in a remote environment while juggling multiple priorities.
• Typing speed 30 wpm or greater.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and support computer networks, hardware, software, apps, and related equipment.
• Provide technical support to end users via telephone.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting in the ticketing system.
• Manage user accounts and perform password resets.
• Support app implementations, system upgrades, and software deployments.
• Handle multiple support requests within SLAs; escalate when needed.
• Coordinate resolutions with internal support teams.
• Assist with phone queue coverage and incoming support requests.
• Collaborate to resolve system and website issues.
