Job summary

RemoteLeads is seeking an experienced IT program manager for remote-first, contract-based engagements. The role focuses on intake, scoping, staffing, schedules, budgets, and delivering IT projects for a major West Coast port authority's IM Division.

The position requires public-sector IT program experience, familiarity with on-call/task-order contracts, and willingness to travel occasionally. PMP certification is preferred and 1099 contractor status is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience managing IT programs or projects for public agencies or large organizations.
• Experience with on-call or task-order contracts.
• Ability to work as a 1099, project-based collaborator.
• Availability for occasional client-site travel as needed.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Port, maritime, or municipal IT experience preferred.
• California public-agency experience preferred.
• Ability to provide 2-3 relevant project engagements, including scope, dates, and role.

Responsibilities

• Intake and scope IT task orders and develop staffing plans across specialist teams.
• Manage schedules, budgets, quality control, and delivery across concurrent on-call IT projects.
• Serve as key personnel and primary client contact for the port authority's IM Division.
• Coordinate systems, network, cybersecurity, data and analytics, cloud, and small-business subcontractor resources.
• Produce status updates and quality-control reports for public-agency stakeholders.
• Contribute relevant qualifications and past-performance narratives to AlphaGov proposals when authorized.
