Job summary

Skillable, a remote-first tech company, is hiring an IT Engineer to keep internal technology running and scalable. You will own the hands-on engineering for identity, devices and everyday apps, leading complex issues and driving automation to improve productivity and security.

You will partner with IT, People and Security teams to manage onboarding/offboarding, while maintaining documentation and runbooks. The role emphasizes remote collaboration and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of IT engineering experience with hands-on identity, devices, and internal apps.
• Experience leveraging AI and automation to improve IT processes.
• Experience building or deploying AI-powered tools and automations.
• Knowledge of AI governance, access controls, and cost management.
• Strong troubleshooting across accounts, devices, networks and apps.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor changes to IT systems and infrastructure to minimize disruption.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve end-user servicing while mitigating risk.
• Collaborate with IT, business units and stakeholders to communicate impacts.
• Support hardware, servers, OS, networking, and databases.
• Evaluate IT tools and infrastructure improvements to meet business needs.
• Manage security solutions including firewalls and endpoint protection.
• Deploy, configure and maintain Windows and Mac devices via Intune and Iru.
• Provide end-user support from initial investigation through resolution.
• Administer SaaS applications, including SSO, provisioning and deprovisioning.
• Build and operate AI tools to automate routine IT processes.
• Establish AI governance with logging, access controls, and cost monitoring.
• Identify and implement AI/automation opportunities across internal IT workflows.
• Collaborate with People and Security teams on onboarding, access changes and offboarding.
