Job summary

CDW is seeking a Purchasing Consultant for a 6 month+ contract, working 100% remotely on PST hours. You will support procurement for large-scale data center construction and IT infrastructure projects, coordinating with project managers, engineers, vendors, finance, and logistics to ensure hardware, services, and deliveries meet schedule.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in technical procurement, experience with ERP or purchasing systems, and a proven ability to manage multiple purchase requests

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or purchasing administration experience.
• Experience supporting technical, IT infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects.
• Experience creating and managing purchase orders.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP or purchasing systems.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create, process, and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders (POs).
• Coordinate procurement activities for data center infrastructure equipment and services.
• Track order status from request through delivery and receipt.
• Work with suppliers to obtain quotes, pricing, lead times, and product availability.
• Ensure purchases comply with company procurement policies and project budgets.
• Maintain procurement documentation, vendor records, and purchasing databases.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams regarding shipments and deliveries.
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on outstanding items.
• Support project managers by providing procurement status updates and reporting.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and material tracking.
• Maintain accurate records within ERP or procurement systems.
• Support forecasting and long-lead equipment planning.
