Job summary

NV5 is seeking an IT/ICT/Building Security Systems Designer to develop and design information technologies, structured cabling, and building security for new or renovated buildings. This remote role supports multiple concurrent projects across major markets and emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and client-focused results.

The designer will lead documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam, collaborate with MEP/architecture teams, and guide technology selections while ensuring projects stay on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is desired; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Active professional certifications (BICSI, PE, ITS Installer-1/2, ASIS) are a plus.
• Experience with design of IT/telecom/security infrastructure for new buildings or major renovations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project design teams with a technology-focused perspective.
• Design IT solutions including entrances, telecom rooms, pathways, and structured cabling.
• Design building security solutions such as video surveillance and access control.
• Advise on CPTED principles.
• Develop and direct construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam.
• Coordinate with MEP and architectural teams through technology selection.
• Review submittals and shop drawings with stakeholders.
• Perform site walk-throughs to ensure standards compliance.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry guidelines.
• Ensure on-time delivery within budget and NV5 quality standards.
