Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist - IRF for a fully remote role. The specialist codes IRF records, maintains schedules, and coordinates with PPS and outcomes teams to ensure accurate impairment coding for Medicare inpatients.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in inpatient rehab coding (UB04/IRF PAI), AHIMA or AAPC credentials, and strong HIPAA compliance and communication skills. Remote work option enables collaboration across regions with a comprehensive training program.

Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA certifications or CPC/CIC by AAPC are required.
• Minimum two years of current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI).

Responsibilities

• Code IRF records remotely using current ICD version within supervisor timeframe.
• Maintain coding schedule as assigned by Area Director.
• Work with PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager on impairment codes for admissions.
• Transmit IRF PAIs in a timely manner for Medicare inpatients when acting as back-up.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance.
• Participate in continuing education and mandatory trainings.
