Job summary

Lifepoint Health, Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist for IRF to work fully remotely from any U.S. location.

You will code IRF records using the current ICD coding version, ensuring adherence to timeframes set by supervision, and collaborate with PPS and Outcomes teams to assign impairment codes. Required qualifications include RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/CPC/CCS or AAPC CIC/CPC, and a minimum of two years in inpatient rehab coding (UB04/IRF PAI).

Qualifications

• Certifications in clinical coding are required (RHIT, RHIA or CPC/CCS by AHIMA; CIC/CPC by AAPC).
• Minimum two years of inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding experience (UB04 and IRF PAI).

Responsibilities

• Code IRF records remotely using current ICD coding version within supervisor-set timeframes.
• Maintain coding schedule as assigned by Area Director.
• Collaborate with PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager on impairment codes for admissions and new diagnoses.
• Back up hospital to transmit IRF PAIs for Medicare inpatients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs.
• Complete mandatory health, safety, and education requirements.
