Job summary

Lifepoint Health, Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist for IRF who will work remotely with the IRF Coding Team. The role codes IRF records using current ICD coding standards and adheres to strict deadlines to support Medicare admissions across multiple regions.

The ideal candidate has RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC credentials and at least two years of inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding experience, with a focus on UB04 and IRF PAI. Remote work offers robust training and support.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA or coding certification (CCA, CCS) by AHIMA or CPC, CIC by AAPC required.
• Minimum two years' current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes IRF records remotely using current ICD coding version within the timeframe set by supervisor.
• Maintains coding schedule as assigned by the Area Director.
• Works with the PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager to assign the Impairment Code for admissions and other diagnoses.
• Back-up for the hospital to transmit IRF PAIs for Medicare inpatients in a timely manner.
