Job summary
Insight Global is seeking a Remote IP Network Engineer II to support a carrier-class IP/MPLS network environment with Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, or Brocade equipment. You will engage in design, implementation, and troubleshooting while partnering with a Senior Network Engineer on strategic transport projects.
Candidates should have 5+ years of core network experience, strong routing protocol knowledge (BGP/OSPF/ISIS), and familiarity with carrier Ethernet.
Qualifications
- 5+ years configuring Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper routers or switches in a core network environment.
- Experience in service provider environments with large-scale network operations.
- Experience with BGP, ISIS, and OSPF.
- Familiar with layer 2 Ethernet technologies: VLAN, STP, LACP, MC-LAG.
- Experience creating and editing network drawings using Microsoft Visio.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot core IP/MPLS networks and transport infrastructure.
- Support capacity planning and operational reliability as part of the team.
- Document and maintain network drawings and MOPs for repeatable deployments.
- Collaborate with a Senior Network Engineer on strategic network initiatives and projects.
