Job summary

SAIC seeks a seasoned Network Engineer to join our Network Team in a remote role with travel. You will architect, design, deploy, and optimize carrier-grade infrastructure, ensuring five-nines availability across large-scale data centers.

You will lead complex troubleshooting, implement security and compliance measures (ISO27001, PCI-DSS), and advance SDN automation with Python or Ansible. This role requires deep expertise in MPLS, BGP/OSPF/ISIS, and modern transport technologies.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Top-Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • 5‑15+ years in network engineering within service provider, ISP, or carrier-grade data center.
  • Experience provisioning carrier-class networks and advanced routing.
  • Bachelor/Master degrees as specified; security and compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design of high-performance IP network infrastructure (MPLS, IP/Ethernet).
  • Tier 3/4 escalation support with deep-packet inspection and RCA.
  • Manage routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS) for traffic engineering and peering.
  • Implement CGNAT, AAA/RADIUS, and security in carrier-grade environments.
  • Automation via Python, Ansible, or Terraform for config and MOP execution.
  • Ensure ISO27001/PCI-DSS compliance and network security controls.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, MOPs, and technical docs.
