Job summary

Lands' End Outfitters is seeking a Merchandise Planner to develop and manage inventory strategies that support customer demand, sales growth, and profitability. The role collaborates across Sales, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Operations to translate insights into actionable inventory plans.

The position balances service and revenue with inventory investment, working remotely with hybrid collaboration if near the Dodgeville, WI or New York City office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in planning/inventory or related roles.
• Experience with B2B, school uniform, or multi-channel inventory is a plus.
• Experience supporting customer-driven inventory and planning in retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute demand forecasts and inventory plans aligned with growth and financial objectives.
• Manage inventory planning for assigned categories, programs, customers, or segments.
• Create pre-season forecasts, inventory investment strategies, and buy recommendations.
• Drive metrics like sales, service, margin, and inventory turnover.
• Analyze trends and performance to identify risks and opportunities.
• Recommend replenishment, lifecycle, and buy timing actions.
• Forecast sales, demand, and service levels while monitoring against plan.
• Maintain forecasts and assumptions within planning systems and tools.
• Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Operations.
• Present strategies, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Lead continuous improvement and communicate performance to partners.
